Do I Need a Receiver to Hook up Speakers with a Song Subwoofer?

Answer

You definitely need a receiver. Without a receive there is nothing to send the signals to the speaker, the receiver is the device that generates the sound that the speakers play. You may also need an amplifier if the power output of the receiver isn't strong enough to power that sub-woofer.
