Do miniature Cocker Spaniels exist?

Answer

Cocker Spaniels are approximately 14 to 15 inches in height with males being slightly larger than females. The American Kennel Club only recognizes one standard size for this small dog breed; there is not a "toy" or miniature variety.

Cocker Spaniels are the smallest of the spaniel breeds and the smallest of the sporting group breeds. They were originally bred as hunting dogs and are comfortable entering water. The average life span of the Cocker Spaniel is 12 to 15 years. The breed is known for its beautiful yet labor-intensive coat, cheerful disposition and willingness to please. These characteristics, in combination with the Cocker Spaniel's small size, make it a popular breed among city-dwellers with limited space.
