Do You Find Value in a Personal Reference?

Do you value personal references as much as ones from employers? What kind of part to they play in hiring people?

Answer

Honestly I find no value in a personal reference! They share no insight into possible job performance in my mind and as a 'personal' reference they will tend to be biased, phony and always glowing!

Only value in a personal reference is the possibility of turning that reference into a candidate!
