Dodge Durango Recall Ball Joint?

Answer

In December 2004, DaimlerChrysler AG issued a statement confirming that they were issuing a recall on 600,000 Dodge Dakota pickups and Dodge Durango SUV's. The recall was for vehicle model years 2000-2003. After a sixteen month investigation, it was found that the upper ball joints of the vehicle could fail causing the suspension to collapse and a wheel to fall off, according to The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. At the time of the recall, no injuries were reported due to the failure of the ball joints.
