Does anyone live in the Amityville house today?

Answer

As of 2014, the house located at 112 Ocean Drive in Amityville that spawned the book “The Amityville Horror: A True Story” was occupied by the D'Antonio family. The D'Antonios purchased the home in 2010 for $950,000.

The house known as the "Amityville house" was built in 1924. The DeFeo family purchased it in 1965. In 1965, Ronald DeFeo took a gun and killed his parents and four younger siblings in the home. The Lutz family purchased it roughly one year later and lasted only 28 days in the home, which they claimed was haunted. With the exception of a 13-month period after the murders and a 14-month period after the Lutz family vacated the home, it has been occupied by private owners since 1965.
