These diseases come from lifestyle factors or genetic factors. Non-infectious diseases can be chronic diseases of long duration. Non-infectious diseases can be slow progressing diseases. Examples of non-infectious diseases are heart disease, asthma, cataracts, Alzheimer's disease, many cancers, stroke, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and autoimmune diseases.
