Examples of Story Settings?

Answer

The setting of a story is the time, place, social, and religious environment in which the story is taking place. Examples of story settings could include Victorian England in the late 1800s, Virginia (USA) during the Civil War Period, Washington DC shortly after the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. Stories do not have to be set in the past and they do not have to be set in a real place, most science fiction works are set in the future, and many of them deal with places that exist only in the minds of writers and readers.
