Maya Angelou is an author and poet that was born on April 4, 1928. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri. Some of the interesting facts about Maya Angelou are she attended George Washington High School, she wrote five autobiographical novels, and Just Give Me a Cool Drink of Water 'Fore I Die was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. Another interesting fact about Maya is that she earned a NAACP Award in the year 2008.
