Famous chemists include Peter Agre, Kurt Adler, and Edward Goodrich Acheson. Peter Agre is an American chemist and physician. He won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2003. Kurt Adler was a German chemist. He won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1950. He shared the Nobel Prize with Otto Diels for their development of diene synthesis, otherwise known as the Diels-Alder reaction. Edward Goodrich Acheson was an American chemist who invented the process to create carborundum. Carborundum is also known as silicon carbide and is used as an abrasive, semiconductor material.
