Foods That Act as a Diuretic?

A diuretic is any substance that promotes the production of urine. People with high blood pressure and other conditions are prescribed diuretics, also known as water pills. There are certain foods that act as natural diuretics. These foods include apple cider vinegar, artichokes, asparagus, beets, Brussel sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cranberry juice, cucumbers, green tea, fennel, horseradish, lettuce, oats, tomatoes, and watermelon. Coffee, tea, soft drinks, and foods that contain caffeine also work as diuretics but should be used in moderation because using them in excess can cause dehydration.
