Foreshadowing Examples?

Answer

Foreshadowing is a wonderful technique used in all different written, visual, and audio-visual mediums to alert the audience that something will happen later in the story.

In Shakespeare's Macbeth, three witches concoct a potion and recite, 'Double, double toil and trouble,' which foreshadows the events that unfold. The movie Wizard of Oz uses foreshadowing to introduce the characters that Dorothy meets in Oz; the Wicked Witch of the West is played by the same woman as the mean Ms. Gulch.

Foreshadowing entices us to read, watch, and experience more of the creator's story!
