Balsa wood is a very light wood that is perfect for making ones own model airplane. One will need balsa wood, no more than 12 inches by 12 inches and 1/32 inches thick. Other things needed are a knife, jigsaw and wood glue. Cut out the design of the plane with the knife and jigsaw. Cut out the wings next. Glue the wings to the plane. Paint if desired.
