French Etching Artists?

Answer

Examples of French etching artists include Francesco Villamena and Charles Meryon. Meryon is considered to be the most significant etcher in France during the 19th century. He suffered from color-blindness which is why he did most of his art work in etching. His most famous etchings are the series titled Eaux-fortes sur Paris. He made the plates for these etchings during the early 1850s. Sadly, Charles also suffered from mental illness and died at the age of 46 in an asylum.
