If you've dropped your phone in a puddle, or down the toilet, don't panic – you might still be able to save it. Water and electronics don't tend to mix too well so the key is to fish it out of the water as quickly as possible and remove the battery, killing the power. You might as well remove your SIM at the same time. Use a paper towel or toilet paper to remove as much water from the phone as possible. When you're done, leave it to dry naturally for a day or two, then put the handset back together, turn it on and hope for the best. You could also try drying the phone by placing it in a bowl of uncooked rice to soak up the moisture, or use a silica gel packet.
