The highest occupied energy level is the known as valance electrons and are those that are found in the outermost shell. Energy levels are commonly used for the energy levels of electrons in atoms or molecules that are bound by the electric field of nucleus. It can also refer to energy levels of vibrational or rotational level in molecules. Since the spectrum is so discrete, the energy levels are said to be quantized. Higher temperatures cause fluid atoms and molecules to move faster increasing their energy and can excite ployatomeimolecuse to a higher average of vibrational rotation. Conduction of heat occurs transferring the heat between each other. At higher temperatures, electrons exit to higher energy orbitals in atoms and molecules.
