Hogwarts is not a real school. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is a fictional school where much of the action from J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" book series takes place.

The school has four houses, each one named for one of the four founders: Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, Godric Gryffindor and Salazar Slytherin. Professor Dumbledor is Headmaster of Hogwarts, and Professor McGonagall serves as Deputy Headmistress.
