How a Pulse Jet Engine Works?


Combustion in a pulse jet engine is intermittent instead of being continuous. Air enters the engine through the valves initiating combustion. This increases the pressure, thereby closing the valves so as to avoid a back-flow through the inlet. After that, the hot gases are ejected via the rear nozzle, which produces a thrust force that lowers the pressure up to a point where the valves will re-open.
