How big can a ball python get?

Answer

Ball pythons have a maximum length of 6 feet. Females tend to be larger than males. These small pythons have gentle dispositions and are popular as pets.

Ball pythons are native to Africa, where they were sometimes worn by tribal rulers as living jewelry. Most ball pythons sold as pets were bred in captivity. They eat rodents and can be kept in large glass tanks. Ball pythons are sedentary ground dwellers and require one or more hiding places in their habitats. They need dry ground or substrate but do best when the air in their habitats is kept at 50 to 60 percent humidity. They also need access to a thermostat-controlled heating pad to help regulate body temperature.
