How can I stop my dog from biting other dogs?

According to Cesar Millan, dog-bite prevention begins at home with your own dog by being a responsible dog owner. There are several things a dog owner can do to make sure his dog does not bite other people or dogs.

A dog owner can neuter or spay the dog in order to reduce instances of dog bites. This strategy is most effective for dog owners who do not plan on breeding their dogs. A spayed dog is less aggressive and also more likely to obey the commands of a dog owner. Teaching basic commands such as sit, stay, come and leave gives dog owners more control over the behaviors of the dog. Playing with your dog also helps reduce aggressive behavior and strengthens the bond between the dog owner and dog.

Although there are many strategies dog owners can use to stop dog bites, some dog breeds may show more aggressive behavior than others due to their unique characteristics. Having an understanding of your dog is important when trying to stop him from biting. There are serious implications involved when a dog bites another person or dog, all of which could result in you losing ownership of your dog.
