How did Beyonc become famous?

As a teenager, Beyoncé became famous as the leader of the all-girl singing group Destiny's Child. After she finished her stint with the group, she went on to release the album "Dangerously in Love," and became one of the world's top-selling artists, as well as an international superstar with sold-out shows in arenas around the world.

Beyoncé began her rise to fame at the tender age of 7 by winning a talent show singing "Imagine" by John Lennon. Everyone in the crowd knew they had witnessed something special because she beat out more experienced teenagers with her powerful voice.

Before forming Destiny's Child, Beyoncé and the other members of the group formed Gyrl's Time. The group practiced outside of Beyoncé's home and entered talent shows throughout their hometown of Houston, Texas. After convincing her father to quit his job and become the group's manager, Beyoncé renamed the group Destiny's Child and scored a number one hit with the song "No, No,No" in 1998.

After the group disbanded, Beyoncé went on to star in "Goldmember," received a massive endorsement deal from Pepsi after Britney Spears had a breakdown and married rap mogul Jay-Z. Her tours sell out crowds around the world, and she has been invited to attend special events with President Barack Obama.
