How Did Copernicus Change the Way People Thought about the Placement on the Earth in the Universe?


Before Copernicus, people believed that the earth was at the center of the universe. This theory had been set forth by Aristotle, and people believed that everything in the universe revolved around the planet earth. Copernicus changed the way people thought about the placement of the earth when he set forth a new model of the universe that was heliocentric.
