Photography and cameras have had a reflective effect on painting, starting at least as original as the 15th Dated. As a tool, a very antique device called the Camera Obscura was used by artists to project an image of a panorama outside onto the opposite wall .The artist in the dark chamber could trace the projected image to get more accurate spatial perspective than earlier possible.
