How Do Doctors Break Your Amniotic Sac?

Answer

A doctor can break your amniotic sac by inserting a tool called an amniohook, into the vagina and poking it into the sac. This will cause the sac to rupture and release the amniotic fluid. Sometimes it is also done with a glove called an amnicot that has a lancet on the end. This procedure is called an amniotomy.
