Carer's Allowance is a taxable benefit to help a person who looks after someone who is disabled. To get the allowance you must be aged 16 or over and spend at least 35 hours a week caring for a person. You fill a form with your details and then the allowance is paid directly into any account of your choice which accepts Direct Payment of benefit.
