To hook up your laptop to the TV you follow the following procedure; Position your laptop near the HDTV, then plug the HDMI cable into one of the HDMI ports on the television, plug the opposite end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on the laptop, plug the RCA audio cables into the TV, using the same input area as the HDMI cable, then press the Input or Source button on your TV remote until the input that your laptop is using is selected. Finally open the laptop lid. Right-click on an empty area of the computer desktop and select Properties, then click the Settings tab. Adjust the resolution to fit your television.
