You will need to remove the old felt and any residue from the glue. Wipe the slate clean, apply the glue to the slate, lay the new felt on top of the glue and pull tightly, smoothing the felt as you go as to not get any creases in the felt and to have a smooth surface, pull the felt onto the back of the slate and smooth it also. Once you have done that you can now cut out the patterns for the holes where the slate meets up with the table itself. Allow to dry for 24 hours before using.
