Often times, reptiles reproduce first by showing off whatever flashy characteristics found on that particular animal. Once the animal has seduced its partner, he places his sperm inside the female to fertilize her eggs. Interestingly enough, the female can hold on to excess sperm for future use.
Reptilia, presented as a Class in our classification, includes turtles (Testudines), snakes and lizards (Lepidosauria), crocodiles and their relatives (Crocodilia), and birds (Aves), as well as a number of extinct groups.
Reptiles reproduce in one of two ways. Most reproduce by the female laying eggs, however, there are some reptiles that give birth to live babies. You can find more information here: http://www. exoticpetvet. net/reptile/rerepro. html
