In most septic lift stations gravity is used to flow the sewage which in some instances is not effective. In the aided lift system, the sewage tank is fitted with a float which acts as a switch. When the tank fills, the switch triggers the pump on and in cases where the pump fails to work there is an alarm system that alerts the homeowner who calls in the plumber.
