How do you get a slide on a trumpet unstuck?

Answer

In my experience, to get a slide on a trumpet unstuck you should get a bottle of penetrating oil like WD 40. Spray it where the valve meets the trumpet. Let it set, if it does not pull off then use a soft mallet and softly tap it at the gap. If that doesn't work see a professional.
