Mix1 cup of flour, salt to taste and just enough water to make a thick paste that is flaky and powdery. Knead gently for about 1-2 minutes until you have a stiff dough. Put some flour in a surface and roll some dough (about the size of half a golf ball) as thin as you can. Peel the dough off the work surface and fry it until it is golden brown. You can spice your poppadoms with chili powder, black pepper, dried garlic, dried chilies or with anything you like.
