Bowls is usually played outdoors on a pitch where one of the two opponents flips a coin. This is done so as to see who wins the mat and places the mat and rolls the jack to the other end of the green to serve as a target. Its main objective is to roll slightly asymmetric balls so that they can stop close to a smaller jack or kitty.
