Prisms are beautiful glass jewels that make light look like rainbows. So how does it work? They start by reflecting light. When light enters one side of the prism at a certain angle, the glass decreases the speed of light causing it to bend. The light then hits the other face and emerges out. That is when the dispersion happens causing the white light to split into a lovely array of colors.
