Standing orders are a way of setting up a regular, fixed payment from your bank account to another account. The person intending to pay via standing order sets aside what they can afford each month and then complete an attached standing order form. It however cannot be used to pay for variable bills. It is mostly used to pay for fixed regular payments like mortgages.
