How Does Afis Work?

Answer

AFIS is an antonym for the Automated Fingerprint Identification System. The system works by using digital imaging to capture a fingerprint. When a person is arrested, when they are booked, their fingers and palms are rolled on a glass plate that is located on a Live Scan Terminal. The information is electronically transmitted to the AFIS.
