How Hot is the Tip of a Lit Cigarette?

Answer

I have to be honest, I knew a lit cigarette was pretty hot, but I didn't realize exactly how hot until I looked it up. I found the answer on a physics website where they did this experiment to find out this very answer. The answer was: Without drawing on the cigarette the side was 752 degrees F while the center was an amazing 1112 degrees F. While dragging on the cigarette the center was a mind blowing 1292 degrees F! You can find more information here: www.physlink.com
