As of June 2014, Dolly Parton does not have any children. Parton has been married to her husband, Carl Dean, since 1966.
In her memoir, entitled "Dream More: Celebrate the Dreamer in You," Parton addresses her childlessness by commenting that God didn't let her have children so that everyone's children could be hers. Parton went on to joke that she is "Great Aunt Granny" to her nieces and nephews, and when she tires of them, she can always send them home.
Oddly enough, Parton herself is from a big family. She was one of 12 children born to Avie and Robert Parton. Her father was a tobacco farmer and Parton grew up on a farm in Tennessee.
