There are 150 psalms in the biblical book of Psalms. King David, who is commonly thought as the author of Psalms, wrote about seventy three psalms. Asaph who was the music director during King David's and Solomon's reign wrote twelve psalms, the sons of Korah who were Levites wrote twelve psalms, Solomon two, Heman the singer one, Ethan, a companion with Heman and Asaph in Temple worship wrote one and forty eight were written by an anonymous writer.
