How much does a day care charge?

The average cost of daycare is $100 to $400 a week, according to Child Care as of June 2014. This cost depends on the age of the child, the daycare center and whether or not other expenses are included.

Daycare prices are higher for infants because of the extra care they require, including more frequent diaper changes, nurturing and hands-on care. Additional fees that may be included in the daycare rate include diapering, laundry if cloth diapers are used, meals, education and/or development training. Home-based daycare centers usually cost less than large daycare centers. These rates are also per child, so expect to pay more for multiple children.
