How much,if at all,can the federal goverment or a state govverment restrict the sale of firearms?

As far as Federal goes they can restrict certain guns but, we have the right to bear arms. The State sets the rules and regulations for what and how we can use and carry them. If you do not follow the regulations, you could lose your rights to bear arms.
