# How Much is the Dollar Worth Today?

It's difficult to calculate what the dollar is worth. What we can do is tell you want a dollar in 2000 or 2005 or 2009 compared to what it would buy today. For instance, something you bought in 2000 for a dollar would cost you \$1.26 today. For 2005 it would cost you \$1.11 and for 2009 it would cost you \$1.01. It's buying power didn't change much from 2009 to 2010, but it did from 2000 to 2010.
