How should you move a hot flask? why is a test tube holder not appropriate?

A hot flask should be moved very slowly with the proper hot flask gloves that are thick enough where the heat does not penetrate to the skin. A test tube holder is not appropriate because a flask is a different shape and it will not grip well which can result in the hot flask to fall out of your hands.
