A driver will know a fuel pressure regulator is going bad when there is either too much of too little fuel pressure, a sudden drop in fuel pressure, or even black smoke. To change a fuel pressure regulator, one much first loosen the bolts that hold the cover to the device in place, and then loosen the clamps. You will then unplug all electrical wires by the intake premium, as well as unplug the throttle cable. Remove all other nuts and bolts, lubricate the O-rings on the new regulator, and install.
