How to Create a Procedure Manual?

Answer

Most any large or small business has a policies and procedures manual. This manual is for employees and managers to reference for a number of situations that can arise at the workplace. The best way to make a procedure manual is to first make an outline of all possible topics that an employee should be able to react to and reference within the manual. Next, the manual needs to be written with explicit instruction on how to handle all situations. Once the document is written then the pages need to be printed and punched, and inserted into a large binder. The binder should also be labeled on the front to clearly indicate the purpose of the binder.

Try to make a distinction in your employee manual between policies that apply to everyone in the company.Employee manuals don't need to be literary works, but they do need to be clear and concise. Every employee who receives a manual should sign a document that acknowledges his or her receipt and understanding of the manual.
