To draw spur gears start with a compass, placing the center where you want the gear centered and make a circle the size of the gear you want. Pick the size of the teeth that you want. Reduce the size of the circle for the teeth and draw a circle for that size using the same center. Draw a series of teeth that fill in the space between the two circles. Start with 12-3-6-9 places of a clock. Fill in the spaces in between those, evenly spaced.
