How to Make Toast Points?


Toast points are triangular pieces of toast used as the base for hors d'oevres. If you don't know how to make toast points you will be surprised at just how easy it is. You will need a loaf of good quality bread sliced thin, and room temperature unsalted butter. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees, while the oven is preheating trim the crusts off of the bread and throw away. Slice the bread in half on the diagonal, twice to form four triangles. Place the bread on a baking sheet and brush one side with melted butter. Toast the bread in the oven until light brown and crisp on top, approximately one to two minutes. Flip bread over and cook until the other side is golden, approximately one minute. Remove from oven and cool on wire rack. Toast points can be made up to a day ahead of time. Store in airtight container.
