How to Preserve Cattails?

Answer

If you dont' preserve cattails, you will end up with a bunch of fluff that comes out of them after a couple of weeks. The easiest way I have found is to spray them with hairspray (use the cheap stuff like Aquanet, that has alot of laquer in it).

Cut cattails at the stalk. Hang them upside down for 1-3 weeks to dry is cool dark place. Then use a lacquer hairspray. Just spray a light, even coat to completely cover. You can find more information at www.thriftyfun.com
