How to Remove the Top of GE Washing Machine?

First, unplug the washing machine. Slip a putty knife in between the front and top panel. Take out the clips on the front panel using the knife. Remove the metal screws that connect the cabinet top to the side panels. Pull the cabinet top to release the tabs underneath the console. Take the top off after disconnecting the connectors.
