How to Solve Integers?

Answer

Solving integers are easy when you remember x can represent any number. The next number will be x+1, then x+2, then x+3 and so on. If you are given a problem that asks you to solve for the integers where you have 4 integers that equal 30, set up the problem and then solve. We have x + (x+1) + (x+2) + (x+3) = 30. Therefore 4x + 6 = 30, and 4x = 24. Finally we divide by 4 to find x = 6. Our four integers are 6, 7, 8 and 9 and their sum is 24.
