I discovered the answer to this accidentally. The door child locks are controlled by the same switch that controls the window locks. Bit strange but there you go.

I would say there is a setting in the Menu of the dvd player, perhaps under a "System" tab. I dont have a Sony player right now to check but thats where it is on a Samsung
