How to Write a Formal Email?

Answer

In the modern age, emails tend to be quickly written, short messages, fired off to remind people of things. However, there are times when a more formal email is called for, especially in a business setting. They should be written similar to a traditional business letter. They should have a formal greeting, using Mr., Mrs., or Ms., as is appropriate, or even 'Dear Sir:' or 'Dear Madam:' if the name is not known. The body of the email should be written using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. It should not contain emoticons, or smileys. The email should then conclude with a closing, such as Sincerely, followed by your name and contact information.
